NEW YORK — The title of the new movie from Netflix and Twentieth Century Fox is “Girls Power.”
The film follows a young, aspiring female porn star who is trying to make her mark in the industry after being diagnosed with cancer and battling the disease herself.
The new movie will debut at the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival on Jan. 28.
The title is the same as the one that debuted on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”
The film stars Melissa McCarthy, a “Girls” fan favorite who is nominated for a Golden Globe for her performance in the film.
McCarthy will play the lead character in the new film.
“Girls POWER” is directed by Sarah Silverman, a producer of “Orange is the New Black” and “Orange Is the New Girl.”
The movie is set to hit theaters on Jan 27, 2017.
It stars Amy Schumer, Amy Poehler, Jessica Biel, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Lena Dunham, Chelsea Peretti, Allison Janney, Emma Stone, Sarah Hyland, Emily Ratajkowski, and Amy Brenneman.
It is produced by Netflix and Fox Searchlight.
